I'm going to do the Mini Mighty Man sprint/pool triathlon on April 17th in East Meadow, NY (Kong Island). I did it last year and loved it. It's a really short and quick race that you can do in under an hour. It's great for seasoned athletes to warm up for the start of the tri season, but also a safe and easy option for beginners in the area who want to try out the sport. I'm training for the San Luis Obispo Tour de Donut (http://www.slotourdedonut.com) bicycle race happening on May 21. These are the kinds of races that I do well in. Stage 1 is a 15 mile tour with 3 donut stops where riders eat all the donuts they can in 10 minutes at each stop. Each donut eaten earns riders a 15 second time credit for Stage 2 of the race. Stage 2 is a very tough 3 mile 5.5% time trial where riders race up Prefumo Canyon Road. The rider with the most donut eaten from Stage 1 goes first.
So I'm spending the next few weeks focusing on climbing. I did over 1000ft of climbing today on Zwift.
I also have many outdoor training on big hills planned over the next few weeks!

I've ridden 866km on my bike trainer in just over a month. Zwift has completely transformed my bike training sessions. The miles go by quickly. My training is harder and smarter, focusing on power output vs speed and I'm already seeing improvement.

I'm really excited to start the 2016 season! I've posted confirmed competition dates to my calendar, and will be adding more as I book them.
This year includes lots of Tour de Donuts in the US where I'll be defending my titles, ultra-distance bicycle races, marathons, eating contests, and an Ironman.
My big goal this year is to qualify for 3200 mile Race Across America (RAAM) bicycle race in 2017 as a solo rider. I'll do that by completing the 400 mile RAAM Texas Challenge in March and the 860 mile Race Across the West (RAW) in June.
I hope to see you out there on the courses this season!
